Tweens' Mini Billboard Affirmations

Tweens' Mini Billboard Affirmations invites young makers to turn discarded materials into bold, positive messages. Using rescued scraps, tweens design small “billboards” that celebrate their voices while supporting Scrap Collective’s mission to keep reusable materials out of landfills. 🎨

Your registration helps us prepare tools, offcuts, and space for curiosity to grow. Together, we’ll show how creative reuse can speak up for both our planet and our community. 🌿 This event is ages 9-13.

Remember to wear clothes that might get paint on them!

Kinusaiga: Fabric Collage

Kinusaiga: Fabric Collage

Kinusaiga is a 20th-century Japanese "no-sew" art form that translates to "silk painting." Fabric scraps from our batiks box are tucked into grooves in foam boards to create textured, mosaic-like images. We will merge textile techniques with painting-like, stained-glass appearances without one bit of stitching.

Learn how to creatively reuse packaging materials and scrap fabrics to make a unique landscape for your home (or to gift to someone you love).

Ages 16+ due to sharp materials.

SCRAP COLLECTIVE CROW PARTY

Let's get clever and curious as we celebrate the return of Spring with a CROW PARTY! Here are all of the details you need for this fabulously fun event for all ages:

ATTIRE: wear all black. This can be your regular duds, or you can dress in your finest black attire.

REFRESHMENTS: We will be serving some small snacks at a "pecking table" as well as non-alcoholic beverages.

ACTIVITIES: We will have crow-related crafts for all ages set up to create at your leisure. There is also a "crow swap" for you to give and receive small treasures and trinkets. This is not trash, these are small, likely shiny trinkets you value but are prepared to pass along to a new home. Brooches, fancy spoons, pretty glass, sequined scarves, or a cool tin cup. If it's sparkly, the crows will LOVE it! One or two trinkets per person.

Enjoy a playful community evening with costumes, themed crafts, and participating in a joyful reconomy-forward soiree!

Scrappy Kiddos Craft Night

Enjoy this first event of its type. Amanda will tap into her 20+ years as an art teacher to guide kiddos aged 6-12 through open craft make-and-take activities. As always, crafts are based on donations, but this time with a child-friendly twist!

Activities will be calm, easy for beginners, and encouraging a slower more relaxed pace facing the week ahead (as opposed to the Sunday Scaries). This event is capped at 8 participants to ensure safety and individual attention. If it's a hit, we may explore more events of this type in the future!

This is a drop-off event. Only children who are familiar with/ comfortable being left at Scrap Collective should be signed up. To ensure safety and comfort we ask that kiddos wear clothes that can get messy, closed toe shoes, and that long hair be pulled back.

Making the Mundane Magical: Bedazzled Medicine Bottles

This workshop was specifically requested by a Scrappy Crafter, and we are SO happy to make it happen. The medications we take for our mental and physical well-being need not carry negative associations. Let's give our daily medications a positive association and a personal celebration of health and wellness.

We're bedazzling our medicine bottles, folks. We'll bring the bling and super glue, (as well as unlabeled clean prescription bottles) and you bring yourself. Feel free to bring a snack, beverage, and reading glasses if you wear them for detailed or small work. These beads and sequins are TINY!
